How do I use my VPS server as a Proxy for uTorrent?

I have uTorrent.

I have a VPS server.

I want to use the VPS server as a proxy for uTorrent. I've spent all morning looking for a way to do it. Found lots of people assuring me it can be done, but absolutely nothing on how to do it.

I used PuTTY to tunnel a connection, and uTorrent does indeed connect through it, but nothing ever downloads. I just sits there connected, not downloading. Can anyone out there walk me through the process?
