arran
Hi all,I was forced into a power button reset on my utorrent machine this morning and when it has come back up I've logged in and started uTorrent to find that it has reset itself back to look like a new install. I had a combination of about 10 active torrents I was seeding and downloading. This is the second time that this has happened to the machine. The box is an HP Micro server with Win 7 7601 64bit 8g RAM. uTorrent 3.0 25806 32 bitWhen I go into %appdata% I can find the utorrent directory and dht.dat, resume.dat, rss.dat, settings.dat are all there as well as .old files with the same names. I swapped the .old for the .dat files without any luck. Am I looking in the right spot?I do backups of this machine but not the system state! That will now change. Can I pull a user profile from a system restore point? I'd rather not do a full system restore, I have one from about a week ago when I last applied patches from windows update.Anybody have any ideas how I can get uTorent back to how it was before the hard reset? arran
Worked it out, I can use a system restore point to recover an individual file or folder. All I did was locate the %appdata%\roaming\utorrent folder and right click and select "restore previous versions".Ensure that utorrent is closed at the time.I just selected the restore point from a few days ago, selected restore, started utorrent and everything is back!
