Seagrape Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 I had a crash of the internal hard drive recently and had to replace it. I had uTorrent (version 2.0.4) installed to an external and was seeding my own plus several other torrents, also all stored on the external. But the new hard drive could not recognize anything installed to the external because there was no info in the new registry. I had to reinstall uTorrent and start all over (version 2.0.4). I have successfully DL'd all but one of my own torrents to the new installation of uTorrent and am able to seed them (as I feel I should, since they are my torrents), thanks to the kindness of people who are still seeding the original UL's. I still have all the torrent information of my UL's plus all the others I was seeding before the crash but it's all on the external drive. Is there any way of restoring those torrents to the new installation of uTorrent so I can once more start seeding them?I tried "Add Torrent" in the File Menu, adding the torrent still in my files, but it just started DLing again, not seeding.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Follow the migration guide.Also, 2.0.4 isn't supported.
gabiibag Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 You must open all the torrents that you want to seed (i mean the addresses...)... when the windows appear you must choose "Don't start downloading"...after that, make sure that all the torrents status are "Stopped".Go in options and at the section "Put new downloads in:" set your folder with the downloaded torrents. (this means that you must interchange the "new downloads" and "completed downloads" folders). After that select all the torrents in utorrent and select "Force Re-check".Wait until all the torrents are 100% checked. After that you can select all the torrents in utorrent and select "Start"; now you must seed all the torrents.Probably i hadn't understood Seagrape's "story" and I apologise if what i wrote is not useful, but i like to help...:|
