One More Byte
I'm using utorrent 3.1 and can't figure out how to make multiple directories as UPLOAD and one as a DOWNLOAD location.I have run out of space on my main hard drive and don't want a mish-mash collection of files in one directory. So, I moved some of the files I've collected into appropriate directories on another hard drive and can't figure out how to continue offering them to others to download themselves. There's no "add another UPLOAD DIRECTORY" option to a big list? It should include all sub directories as well.Would right clicking on a directory and selecting "include in library" then putting it in the DOWNLOAD directory that you've chosen utorrent to use, work? DreadWingKnight
No. BitTorrent as a protocol doesn't deal with "shared folders" in the traditional sense. In order to use multiple locations, you need to use the "Set Download Location" function on individual torrents or change your preferences. One More Byte
But in preferences it still doesn't allow for more than one UPLOAD location? At least I couldn't figure out how to do it.Oh well, I guess I'll be unfair and download what I want and leave only a couple of programs available for REUPLOADING at a time then. DreadWingKnight
No. You don't understand. The "download location" is, more strictly speaking, the "STORAGE location"You move the files and set the download location on the torrent, downloading or seeding doesn't matter, and it will still upload from that location. One More Byte
Are you trying to say that, if I choose "move file after download complete..." that UPLOADING will still be possible because it knows where it's been moved to?I manually moved the files already so it doesn't know where to find them. Is there a way to get utorrent to offer them again?

jbebad
One More Byte: If you have manually moved completed (or even incomplete) to different locations, there is no way for uTorrent to know where you moved them. If the torrent is still loaded you will get an error (I think) the next time you start uTorrent. With single file torrents you can use "Set download Location". With multi-file torrents, assuming you have changed the filenames, you will have perhaps do both "Set download location" and relocate in the files tab. This will resolve the locations, but you will need to do a force re-check prior to seeding - if you start it it will do a recheck anyway. If you are planning to move files then move them within uTorrent if you want to keep the torrent loaded.
