slickjdr
I'm currently using the 2.2.1 version of uTorrent. I've chosen not to update yet.Basically, usually I'd get really crappy speedtest results in general, but I knew I should be getting better, BT engineer came over last week and sorted that general speed problem out. So now I'm getting my 8-11MB/s results for download which were more what I expected. However, no matter what speed I'd be receiving, my problem with uTorrent has always been the same.No matter how good the torrent was in terms of availability, seeds/peers etc. it ALWAYS starts off so painfully slow. On rare occasions it's fixed up pretty quick and the speed would go up to 100-300kb/s (before I had my speed fixed in general), but most of the time, it will stay on really bad speeds like 0-10kb/s for hours before it even gets to a decent speed like 100-200kb/s.I thought I'd finally come to this forum and get some help. I looked at the setup guide and I did everything there, I used the tool uTorrent has for testing upload speed and I used the setting that it got from that. My NAT type is fine, the port needed is opened based on that test as well so there's no firewall/router problems. I restarted my PC and just started uTorrent up again. For the past 45 minutes the speed had been 0-10kb/s, however now it's decided to increase to 50-120kb/s. Although this shows it may be increasing now, is that normal or not? With "healthy" uTorrent settings and a good download rate what sort of starting speed/consistency should you expect when you begin to download from a torrent? Just now it's gone down to about 10-40kb/s, as you can see it's also very inconsistent near the beginning also. Sometimes it'll go to 300-500kb/s+ for a while and i look back and it's already decreasing rapidly to a terrible speed. And now it's back to 0-10kb/s :SIf I could get some help to sort this out I'd really appreciate it because it's been an ongoing problem with my torrent downloads. Also now that my general speed is a lot greater and consistent I'd expect a lot higher download speeds from the torrent also.
