Configuring Gavotte RAMDisk for uTorrent

Hello,

I installed Gavotte RAMDisk on my computer and I am wondering how to configure it and uTorrent.

I'd like to move the uTorrent cache to the ramdisk (Drive R:\). This utility is said to prolong hard disk life when used in conjunction with Bittorrent software....

Please fill me in on how to properly configure both programs.

Thanks in advance.

P2P programs shorten hard disk life by the constant read-writes to a P2P cache. By moving some of this to the RAM, the hard disk isn't overloaded by the constant reads and writes to this cache.....The hard disk doesn't spin down but moving the cache to the RAM via a RAMdisk takes a serious load off the hard disk.

This is what the makers of Gavotte RAMdisk claim anyways....

Hello all !

I'm in optical fiber and around 4Mo/s downloading, microtorrent say that my harddrive is 100% loading...And cash somtimes !

It's a laptop and the harddrive is not very fast....

Now I used the same way as Castle_Romeo : Ramdisk around 1.5Gb

And it works so well !!! Around 10Mo/s ! :P

No freezing,no slowdown,no crash, nothing ... even a power cut dont do anything ... switching to battery.

I dont understand why microtorrent dont use this way... ???

and it's "green programing" i mean it's better to use this power memoy (allready start...) instead of use the harddrive all along the downloading. At the end of the download, the file could be move to the hard drive automatically. less power used.
