peaceninjah
I don't want to download the entire torrent, only select files, I have my preferences set so that the preview box comes up before the download starts, where I should be able to select which I files I want, but it is always empty and says there are no files (although downloads still work) I would really appreciate some guidance with this, as selective downloading is a huge part of my torrenting, thank you!I'm running 10.7.2 Lion #_#

medwardl
can you guys get utorrent to hold off on the dialog box until it has gotten the .torrent file? Due to pirate bay switching to all magnet links, having a client that gives me the file list before i begin downloading is important. Thanks
peaceninjah
so if piratebay uses only magnet links, how can the file be downloaded w/out magnet links?... if that is the only way to solve the problem.thanks #_#edit; nvm i got it just have to click the get torrent file in paranthesis instead, woot! vadimt
Magnet links though are just links, they have no files associated with them just data. The links are an evolving URI standard developed primarily to be used by p2p networks.Technically, magnet links are made up of a series of parameters containing various data in no particular order. In the case of BitTorrent, they hold the hash value of the torrent which is then used to locate copies of the files among the peers. In your case you need download torrent file to your computer and then open it in uTorrent client. Thanks! flaffl
I figured it's better to bump a thread than create a new one, but I have the same problem.http://i.imgur.com/2lJrd.pngAs you can see, whenever I click on the magnet link, uTorrent opens up and successfully identifies the link as a torrent file, but has no actual data to be downloading anything. Can someone help me out with this problem? Thanks in advance!PS I'm downloading from a website with lots of "booty," (not sure if I can mention the site even though it's clouded or whatever whatnots) so manually downloading a torrent file and then launching it in uTorrent is not possible. Yarrgh.
