loninappleton
I have a folder with all my files and torrents from a previous client (Azureus/Vuze). The total is about 40 content and 40 torrent files. On my new computer setup:System under discussion MSI 880GM-E41 mainboard Kingston DDR3 Hyperx/fb 2x2Gb Maxtor 100G HD Logisys 480w Power supply corded mouse corded keyboard using onboard video by ATII have downloaded utorrent. Then I tried to get one torrent file into the queue. The torrent seems to be downloading from my other host machine-- the equivalent of going out on the net and slowly rebuilding the download to seed. What am I missing in order for utorrent to use the folder utoorrent downloads (which contains torrents and content) to quickly be installed in the window?I have looked at the migrating section and the sample above shows my result. How can the default folder be recognized right away? Is there a way to get all the torrents in the window and then use Torrent Editor to set up the right pointer to the utorrentdownload folder? How can I close the featured content advertising window? While awaiting answer I will look at the beginners guide and send files section.
loninappleton
I reviewed a previous thread I made back a couple years ago (!) in 2008. This time it's for real. I am getting the hang of adding the torrents given under the FAQ/migrate procedure. But from above I was not doing it correctly. When adding a torrent from the right path (mine are all in utorrentdownloads) the checker will perform and and count up to 100%.I am still interested in any help or pointers for use of Torrent Editor on this new build.Meanwhile I am completing the add process.I haven't gotten the left window closed yet. (Or maybe it doesn't?)
ABG
I have a similar question ... I have a lot of torrents that had to be moved to another location after completion and seeeding. They continue to show up in the listing but marked as errored. I would like to just edit the location/path, but don't know how that could be done. The only other way is to remove and reload the torrent and specify the completed filename in its new path-location....let the check finish the process. Normally that would be straight forward if not tedious for a hundred torrents, but I have changed folder names and file names (when there was no folder), from the default to remove extraneous characters and info when loading the torrent. So I have to copy and paste each new location path/name when reloading.Secondly i would like to know some migration techniques between torrent apps and I have even had troubles picking up the database when changing versions. I now have 1500 torrents that need to be relocated and it raises the proposition that I just not bother reloading them, and only select a favored few for continued seeding. Also, removing-reloading a torrent loses the ratio data which in some cases, very large torrents, is helpful to know.Note ... I have seen comments that people throw away the torrent file after the download is complete.I always save all the DONE copies as well as the sorted by subject collection when I originally download and save them. How else might you go back and re-do one if something goes awry, or email the torrent to someone interested in the material. In fact you should download and save a torrent at first interest, because the torrents themselves have a tendency to disappear suddenly when a site goes down. Once you have the torrent you essentially have the means to get the content.
