Checking A Port / Port Forwarding

I want to speed up my downloads so I’m trying to check the port uTorrent uses to see if it’s blocked or clear but I’m having some trouble.

I thought my Norton firewall was blocking the port so I disabled it, then tested the port using this site: http://www.canyouseeme.org/

Most of the time (even with Norton’s firewall disabled) the test came back with an error message which means the port was blocked. Sometimes the test was successful, but infrequently.

So I uninstalled Norton completely and retested. Regardless of whether Windows firewall is on or off, the tests are now coming back with a higher rate of success than when Norton was installed. However I still get error messages sometimes when I test the port. It seems to be random: at times the port test works, at times it doesn’t.

I’ve tried testing the port using the Setup Guide in uTorrent, but this always says the port is not open.

Can anyone tell me what could be blocking the port and why it is sometimes cleared and sometimes blocked?
