Getting weird speed drop every 3-4 minutes

I was unsure really what to search to find a solution to this problem, so I hope you can help me find out what's going on. The problem is that my upload speed will be at max for seeding for about 3-4 minutes, then it'll just take a steady drop down to zero. It seems to climb back up right away, but stays at half limit for a minute then goes full again. It's repeated this process for some time now, and I was wondering what might be causing this and how to fix it.

i came here for the same issue. But i managed to resolve it

It pretty simple, you put bad settings on the Bandwidth menu (Options/Preferences/Bandwidth)

Like you can see, i had the exact same issue :

I just followed this setup guide : http://www.utorrent.com/help/guides/connection-setup

and it was fine.

So : Stop all your download (uTorrent, Youtube, etc.)

Go on uTorrent and press Ctrl + G (or Options -> Setup Guide)

Click "Run tests" and wait! Once the tests are completed, the settings will be filled in for you. You can then hit Save & Close.

And start your torrent again
