Jamdog Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 It seems that each new release of uTorrent gets banned by my favourite private tracker site, thebox.bz.To quote their latest announcement:Due to a serious bug in uTorrent 3.1.0.0 that causes it not to ban peers sending bad data, we have been forced to remove it from our client whitelist. We're sorry for the inconvenience. The last 'approved' version is 1.8.3, but I'd love to use the latest version. Is there any possibility that the developers of uTorrent could work together with the testers on thebox.bz to ensure that the next release can be used by the (about) 7,700 site users. It seems that it's a minor thing that's causing uTorrent to get banned. I realise that thebox is stricter than most private tracker sites, but it would be nice to be able to use my favourite torrent client for my favourite site. Thanks
Firon Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 We already fixed that specific bug in 3.1.2.
ktetch Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Is there any possibility that the developers of uTorrent could work together with the testers on thebox.bz to ensure that the next release can be used by the (about) 7,700 site users. I realize it's an old thread, but since I was working on something related to this...I tried investigating some of their client issues a year or two back. They don't have any 'testers' that understand what they're doing, In the same way that most people who can drive cars can't diagnose problems and fix them when stuff breaks in the engine. So be it a FOD'd camshaft, or a foible of µTP, they're stumped and have to blame. Since they can't be wrong and have done bad stuff with the tracker setup, it MUST be the client.... same as when your brakes fail, it's because of a design fault and not because you used DOT5 instead of DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid ("hey it's one more, must be better still!")
