the system cannot find the file specified

I've gotten this error message for two torrents, both unarchived collections of ebooks, and it stops the torrent (which is fully downloaded, just uploading to keep a decent ratio). Error occurs reliably after about 5 minutes of running. My WAG is that several long filenames are identical except for the suffix and that utorrent either isn't asking for them correctly, or twitching on a soft error it should be OK with.

Here is some additional information.

Each of the problem torrents have been large collections of ebooks in multiple formats.

Error happens sometimes immediately after starting torrent, sometimes it runs for half a hour or so.

Restarting works fine, but takes 30 restarts per GB.

Force recheck shows no issues.

Hi,

Using Build v3.1.2 b26773 and WinXP I am getting repeated "cannot find the file specified" errors with large, slow 24hour-a-day torrents.

Been using uTorrent very successfully for years (BIG "THANK YOU!") with almost no problems and this seems new to me.

Has someone tightened up read/write timeouts in this build, perhaps?

This is a real problem for me as I am losing some of these completely as a result.

Any feedback or workarounds would be appreciated.

Endure!

Hi,

Thank you for your interest.

Sorry about delay - health problems.

Writing to network drive? - No, writing to system drive, c:.

Writing to default directory? - No, but writing to directory in My Documents folder by sole user with Admin rights.

Force recheck? - Yes, but fix is only temporary lasting as much as a few minutes with uTorrent active then reverting to previous state.

Seen it before? - Never, only with this build.

Experience? - 1000's of hours with both slow and moderately fast connections.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,
