pepe_rodriguez Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Hello,Thank you in advance for your help.Well I am not much of a uTorrent connaisseur, but this might be simple, so I'll ask without posting my connection speeds and so on; if it isn't and that's needed, please let me know...Apparently uTorrent (2.0.4) has issues with keeping the upload limit, unless you tick the two options in Global Rate Limit options. Now, my problem is: if I untick them download rockets to 200 and upload to 150. if I tick them, upload limit is respected but download won't go over 15...I'm on a capped connection so I'd like to keep upload to say 15 or 20 and keep downloads up, but I can't do it because of the above...I've read all I could, but still can't figure out what to do...Thanks,J
DreadWingKnight Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 We don't support 2.0.4 anymore
pepe_rodriguez Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Thanks for the prompt replyI'm downloading the last version but I have a torrent halfway through (huge); can it be transferred to the new version or am I stuck with the old one until the download is finished?
DreadWingKnight Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Just make sure to shut uTorrent down cleanly before trying to update.
pepe_rodriguez Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 You see, that's the problem. 2.0.4 won't let me update directly ("no newer versions have been found), I would have to uninstall & install 3.1.2...That's why I'm worried about the download transfer, what do you reckon?(or maybe I can have both versions installed and try the transfer risk-free?)
DreadWingKnight Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Just install the new version over the old.
pepe_rodriguez Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Can I trust that the downloads will be automatically transferred, to the best of your knowledge? I know there's nothing 100% with computers, but if I lost all I have so far it'd be a real mess...Thanks DWK
DreadWingKnight Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Unless something massively interferes with the saving of the resume.dat file during uT shutdown, it will migrate properly.
pepe_rodriguez Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Thank you, transferred with no issues and so far the problem is fixed, I'll wait a bit until cheering though, just in case!
