oxygenuk
utorrent is greatand i think it needs a proper installer instead of just some 1 icon so we can access it from start menu, find it easier etc.im willing to do this as a voluntaryily service for every release as long as i get some kinda credit.what you guys think 8)
jeronantropis
well , actually, the fact that it's only 1 exe seems to me one of the coolest aspects of this program. just create a shortcut to the exe file to your desktop or so, that's the way i do it. it's depending on personal opinion, but i like it a lot the way it is now. segosa
I like the fact that it's a single exe too, but there's nothing to stop other people creating installers for it. Unfortunately installers usually add several hundred KB overhead so the 'tiny' aspect of uTorrent will be lost.
Ultima
Is it that hard to add shortcuts yourself? I'm sure that if you can make the installer, then a shortcut should be even less problem for you. Plus, if it's on your desktop, wouldn't it be (basically) a shortcut, only, the real thing? It's only one file, so you can place it anywhere as if it were an icon.
vurlix
We chose not to use an installer.
Demon-boy
If you really want it on the Start menu, just right-click the icon and choose Pin to Start Menu. Easy.

Ultima
Fine, then wouldn't it be easy for you to just do it manually? You said you can make the installer, so moving the file and then creating a shortcut really shouldn't be much of a problem for you.

dewy
oxygenuk: Like many others, the lack of instaler was a great plus for me, I can put the file on a usb flash drive and use it when I am at friends houses/pimp the program, if you want you can create a utorrent folder in C:Program Files and copy the exe in there and create a shortcut, infact there is LESS work involved in doing that than creating a installer. chaosblade
Yup, No installer is the best installer. You can put it wherever you want and it works just the same.
costa
agree with chaosblade - no installers please.
Poromenos
Oh GOD yes, PLEASE don't make an installer. Even with NSIS, it would add some 40 kb, which is 50% the size of the program.
