lethal42
Hi Guys and Gals,Apparently I am running version 3.1.2 (26763), every time I start it I am invited to change to build 26773. I accept and the new version starts. I save the new desktop shortcut (renamed), and delete the old one.Next time I open from the new shortcut, I am invited to do the same again. For some reason the new version is not being saved despite accepting the prior 'invitation' and the new version starting (the prior session). Can someone please advise wigo here.I shouldnt have to uninstall and reinstall surely.I have never had this problem with previous version releases.....looking forward to any advises. mcaspi
You don't need to save any shortcut or delete one. Just accept the invite and the new version is installed.
lethal42
Hi mcaspi, thanks for the quick response. Initially i didnt do this (save the new shortcut), however each time i started utorrent the invite to upgrade occured.Saving the new shortcut hasnt solved it either.Cant understand why it is opening with the old one each time.looking forward to further advises
Putnum
My utorrent is doing this as well. Never had any problems with it before, been using it for years now.
DreadWingKnight
Have you been paying attention to the build numbers or not?
Putnum
Not really, no..I just opened it then and the message that comes up says "A new stable version of uTorrent 3.1.2 build 26773 is available. Also down in the download bar next to the D and U there is a T? and it's going at 130kbps?
lethal42
Hi Putnun, Thanks I am glad I am not alone in this. I too have been using for a number of years and first time I have struck this. However I have been paying attention to the build numbers that is why I raised this issue, as I get the same message every time I open uTorrent, after updating (allegedly) the last time.DreadWingKnight, which guides do you refer to? I did a search before posting initially and again now...it probably comes down to the terminology one would use...but found zip. As for the FAQs...next!I have reviewed the user manual...Appreciate any constuctive assistance for myself or Putnum.cheersContinuing to 'feel the love'. Firon
We released a lot of updates to 3.1.2.
KingJohn
Just upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1.2 after being prompted by message. New version retained torrents(4) and is very slowly downloading them. When I try to add any new torrent I get "It seems like uTorrent is already running but not responding. Please close all uTorrent processes and try again." I've restarted my Win 7 64bit PC twice but with no joy. I have an exception in my Windows firewall both for uTorrent and for TorrentPrivacy proxy. uTorrent setting were as TorrentPrivacy proxy set them (no DHT or UDP ). I run Avast anti-virus with automatic sandbox. Do I need to deinstall 3.1.2 and reinstall 3.0 version or would that help.Or do I have to use Vuze or something else? Am a bit new to P2P. Firon
It could be the sandbox feature you're using.
lethal42
Hi folks,Apologies to DreadWingKnight, regarding the signature commententary...I am new to this forum, but not forums in general of course, and dint realise it was part of your signature.Still more than alittle lost as to why this is occuring, and appreciate any advisesthanks all
KingJohn
I just deinstalled both uTorrent 3.1.2 and TorrentPrivacy Bittorrent Anonymizer. Checked all the relevant directories were empty. Deactivated Avast antivirus with it's sandbox feature. Then installed uTorrent 3.1 and reinstalled the TP proxy. It never forgot the torrents I was trying to download even thru the de-install! But when I tried to add a torrent to the redone uTorrent 3.1, I couldn't. I got that same message "It seems a uTorrent is already running but not responding. Please close all uTorrent processes and try again. Do I have to wipe and secure-erase the main hard-disk and then reinstall the OS (windoze 7) and then uTorrent etc (or some other Torrent software that works) or can i make uTorrent work? Thx in advance anyone with a clue how to resolve this.....:/
lethal42
Hi, It would seem we have a couple of potentially related issues running in this same post. I am not saying the post has been hijacked, but some clarity would be good, and would make it easier for those trying to provide solutions.Or am I offside? If not...i trust this is cool with everyone.looking forward to progressing either issue
mcaspi
lethal, reboot your computer, make sure that uT doesn't start when Windows starts, download uT from utorrent.com and install it. See if this works.
lethal42
Thanks mcaspi, I have done this (after uninstalling and cleaning (ccleaner)), b4 rebooting. Let you know how I go.cheers
KingJohn
It looks like I may have "hijacked" the line here unintentionally. Sorry if so. Seems the Version 3.1.2 issues are related but examining them develops two different lines. My problem seems separate so I may make a new "topic" depending on the next couple posts to make it easier for folks trying to help.
