.torrent files now saying .torrent.imported and not working

I'm not sure what I've done, but in my various attempts to fix this problem I've made lots of changes to my uTorrent's preferences and had no luck. Now I probably haven't got it back to how it was to begin with, but oh well.

My chief problem is that my downloads are no longer saving to my Downloads folder, where they used to go automatically. It's saving them in the top-level Users folder and I have to move them manually. Of course, then it doesn't like that and says they're broken links. I've tried automating it in Preferences, but that didn't help. Now I'm seeing that in the Downloads folder, the .torrent files (green icon with uTorrent's logo on it) are now calling themselves .torrent.imported (white blank icon). I don't know how I did this but I can't work out how to undo it.

I managed to get one file to download, but then it disappeared when it was completed, rather than saving or moving to my Downloads folder as it says it should be doing. It's not in my Users top-level folder either. A search of my computer shows that only the .imported and .torrent files now exist. How is this even possible??

I have tried removing the six files that wouldn't download and adding them again, but they still say .imported and can't be selected when I try to add a file to uTorrent.

It's pretty infuriating, since I don't know what I did and every logical thing I try in the preferences seems to make no difference. What am I missing?

Edit: I've managed to make the torrents download, but when they complete they completely disappear. I can't find them anywhere. This is what my preferences currently state:

Location of downloaded files: Put new downloads in Downloads (checked)

Move completed downloads to: Downloads (checked)

Append the torrent's label (unchecked)

Only move from the default download directory (unchecked)

Location of .torrents: Store .torrents in: torrents (checked - obviously that's what I've named my folder where all my torrent files have been stored for years without a problem; it's located within my Documents folder)

Move .torrents for finished jobs to: (unchecked / blank)

Automatically load .torrents from: Downloads (checked)

Delete loaded .torrents (unchecked)

Hi!

The torrents files become .imported when you set autoload from the folder the torrents are currently in. Once they are renamed, you cannot make them .torrents again automatically, but you can look for them in the uTorrent folder (Library - Application Support - uTorrent). Be sure to turn off the option if you don't want them .imported again.

Could you also send us a screenshot of your directories preferences to mac@bittorrent.com for us to help you further?

Thanks!

Thank you both - that worked and now I've been able to find the 'missing' downloads that had completed and seemingly disappeared - cheers for that. I'm not sure if the other problem of them downloading to the library folder instead of my regular downloads folder has also been averted, as I'm not using uTorrent now until about this time tomorrow. I guess I'll find out then. If it's still not working the way it was up until yesterday, I'll come back and update you if required. Thanks again!
