kippon Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 uTorrent build 1.5.13 in Mac OSX Lion. instant chaos. wasn't playing nice (hang/lock other programs, System Prefs too!, even though it was only using 20-30% average *max* CPU at any given time... which appears contrary to the 103% CPU usage i just saw on another post), forced recheck on every single Downloading torrent at start up regardless of shutdown procedure (which 75% of the time was Force Quit because EVERYTHING locked up. i've had this machine since late '09 and i've never really had to deal with that before, over and over. so it's your fault! haha). nightmare. i didn't stick around to see what else would go awry. had to roll 'er back to 1.5.12. works fine again.may not apply to you, but just a heads up.
kippon Posted February 29, 2012 Author Report Posted February 29, 2012 PS: at first i thought it was the other programs, as i updated uTorrent several days ago but didn't use it, and promptly forgot said update. i reinstalled current Firefox build, and then fresh install the beta. i suspiciously eyed VLC because that had a recent update. I THREW A 'FRESHEN UP' INSTALL OF LION ON TOP because System Prefs was unusable. then i went into Terminal and reset some things. nothing. no change. still a mess.1.5.12 and everything was fine again.ha!
DreadWingKnight Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 All of that, and 1.5.14 is the current version, not 1.5.13
SteveTheHealer Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Well I'm rolling back to .12 because .13 is broken as well as .14 ... found at a site that stores old apps.
ruthnin Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Recently acquired brand new mac with Lion installed and I download torrents straight to an external drive. All was fine until the other day. No files downloading but existing torrents status is Error: Former volume not mounted.Tried Force Re-check and start or Force-start to no avail. Well saying that, I managed to clear it last night, but now the error message is back. Decided to go back to 1.5.12 after reading the above comments, but yep, no joy. Any thoughts/ideas?Thanks in advance
ruthnin Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks Dread, but no luck. The status now shows Error: Invalid download state, try resuming. Well it showed that before disconnecting/reconnecting the external drive too. But I re-check and it changes to stopped and if I try to start/force-start it reverts back to the original error message. Aaaargh. I like Lion, but have also had problems using wine with it. *pines for snow leopard*
