Trackbill
I create a daily torrent of a few hundred megabytes and upload it. However, it goes very slowly. My maximum upload is around 250kB/s, and I know it's not my ISP because I can achieve this speed on other torrents that have a lot of activity. Right now my daily torrent has been active for a couple of hours, is showing 8 of 25 peers connected (6 in swarm) and only uploading at 20kB/s. Often it's as low as 5kB/s. I ran the uTorrent Setup Guide and am using its suggested settings. How can I improve upload speed on torrents where I am the only seed?Edited to add: I don't have anything else uploading or downloading at the same time, so it's not that. S1Drano
You're only connected to 8 peers, maybe that's the problem? When I'm seeding torrents, I'm usually connected to ~20 peers in a single torrent and seeding at a speed of ~50kB/s (out of 250kB/s maximum), but I'm only uploading to ~5 peers at the same time (even if I could seed to many more at higher speeds). There could be many reasons, why this happens:- Your peers can't download very quickly (either their connection is bad, or they're already downloading tons of other stuff)- Their computer is currently busy doing other stuff- Their upstream is sated, which means that they can't request any pieces from you, thus can't download even though they could (the typical "slow downloads, when uploading too fast").There's no need to panic, that's pretty normal behaviour.
