What can we do about the magnet link problem?

I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. Torrent sites are dropping torrents in favor of magnet links. Here's what happens when I try to download something now using a magnet link:

Now when I try to download something off a torrent site utorrent doesn't show me the individual files when I click on a link. The utorrent window is left blank. So I either have to download everything or go into the "FILES" tab on utorrent and have to block every file I don't want. It'll do the job but it's rather cumbersome. Is there a fix for this?

I do notice that utorrent has the date listed wrong. If you see the image it lists the date as 12/31/1969 4:00:00PM. Maybe that's the cause of the problem? Will a future update to utorrent fix this? Is there a solution for this problem now that someone knows about?

You posted this in another thread and got answers to the first question.

You cannot see the files before starting to download. When they start to download, go to the Files Tab, select the ones you don't want, then right-click and check "Don't download".

Remember to check off "Pre-allocate files" in the Preferences.

For the moment being that's the only way to do it.
