DeathStalker Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 I've noticed that 3.1x builds seem to hang on "Updating ... " a LOT longer than other versions have. Is there any way to make this more effective? Is it a configuration issue? (No, it's not a firewall issue, I've already confirmed that)Thanks!
DeathStalker Posted March 4, 2012 Author Report Posted March 4, 2012 Ok, there HAS to be something that can be done about this - I just added a torrent to a private tracker and it has been Updating... for over 45 minutes! WTF!? (and no, the IP is NOT in a blocklist)
DeathStalker Posted March 22, 2012 Author Report Posted March 22, 2012 So no one has any ideas, and no one else is seeing this issue? It is not a firewall problem. I can be connected to one tracker with the file going fine, and add another file from that tracker and it will still sit on Updating .... for over an hour at times.
gordonio Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 I have experienced essentially the same problem as described above by Deathstalker: after restarting the uTorrent client, many torrents stay in an 'Updating' tracker status for long periods of time, even up to two hours. And, as previously described, other torrents from the same tracker will go to 'Working' status fairly quickly. I am running a back version of uTorrent, 1.8.5, on Window XP SP3 which has performed very well for years up until recently. A private tracker I subscribe to supports only specific back levels of uTorrent for Windows. Could the problem be related to the number of torrents I am seeding, 1,500+? Any help or advice would be most appreciated by me. Gordonio in the San Francisco east bay
DreadWingKnight Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 I am running a back version of uTorrent, 1.8.5You are not supported. Fullstop.
gordonio Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Fine DeadWingKnight, but what about answering the original poster Deathstalker who is running a currently supported version of uTorrent?
DreadWingKnight Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 When he provides the information the troubleshooting guide at http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 requests, fine.
Mac-the-Knife Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Before doing anything I would update to the latest 3.2 beta version. The 3.1.3 stable version of utorrent has many issues, a fair amount of these have been sorted in the beta versions. Click the link below and it will open the page where you can view the various beta versions and what issues each version has tackled. If you do this and the problem persists then post back to this section with the various information that DreadWingKnight is asking for, such as, windows system, antivirus, firewall etc.http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=115806
DeathStalker Posted June 22, 2012 Author Report Posted June 22, 2012 Having been on vacation for a while, I am hopeful that MANY of the too numerous issues with 3.2x have now been resolved with a recent build. (I still have to read through that thread though).I have not found any reason for this delayed updating, nor does a fresh install correct it.IMHO, 3.1.3x was *never* stable.
