basic newbie question

Hi all,

I am new to using bit torrent / u Torrent, I have just downloaded uTorrent and am trying to download some streams, I have limited my upload, enabled encryption and the other things mentioned in the faq to optimise performance but my download rate is rarely getting above 5 kbp's and i have a couple of 2 gb files to download.

There are 22 seeds and 2 peers, is this normal speeds for downloading streams ?

FYI my connection is adsl, my normal download speed is 9mbps and upload is between 1 and 1.2 mbps according to the speed tests I have performed.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have to improve this performance or to confirm what is happening is normal..
