Slow download speed after few days

I recently had to install Vista and i got a problem with uTorrent. After installation on fresh system it works just fine for few days, but then speed suddenly falls to about 9kb total for all downloads. After restarting utorrent it works fine for few minutes and drops back again. Deleting and reinstalling utorrent doesnt help. Is there any way to fix it? It there such problem on Win8? (I might install it if i cannot fix it on Vista). Prior i run xp on my pc and it worked just fine.

Edit: Another problem seems to be that after restart it sometimes loses downloaded files and shows 0%.

Same problem. I have two PCs. First with vista & Second with XP. ISP dsl thru D-link router. All was fine, but today I've found that speed on Vista PC decreases to 10kB/s after 1-3 minutes after starting download. On XP based computer ALL is good. Anyone can help us? uTorrent free version - 3.1.2 build 26821.

I've solved problem step by step.

1. Disable Vista firewall

2. Reboot

3. Uninstall uTorrent

4. Reboot

5. Install uTorrent

6. Enable Vista firewall

If your speed slowdown to 10 kb per second, it is important to check your disk for errors. It is only problem in this situation. My first post isn't solution, this one - it is. Thank whole internet and FAQ. http://user.utorrent.com/help/faq/errors (disk overloaded).

i have the same problem with windows 7, i've never have any problem with utorrent, but i have this one for a week now.

it's been 4 days now that i'm downloading a movie between 9.0 and 9.4 kb, at startup, it was at 574.0 kb, everything else that i tried to download didn't download at all... stuck at 0.0 or 0.1 kb

and this is no help for me,http://user.utorrent.com/help/faq/errors.

i tried to run some test with my connection, everything is ok, don't know what to do now!!!
