JAT123 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Hi all,I've Been dling torrents for a few years now so i know the basics but lately I'm getting a strange problem, particularly when dling large torrent files. It doesn't always happen but its happened about 3 times in the last few weeks on torrents that others aren't having troubles with. And its happened on this torrent again. The torrent will tick over to 100% complete and then switch over to seeding - I'll then start extracting the downloaded file and 1 of 2 things happens1) The file wont extract - it will say one of the rars is corrupt2) the file extracts but when installing the game the installation fails at some point due to a corrupt or missing file in the installerWhat I have found is when I stop the torrent from seeding and then do a 'force re-check' on the torrent it changes from 100% complete to 99.7% or 99.8% complete (I have not deleted any rars from the downloaded files before forcing the re-check) I will then start the torrent running again and it will start trying to download the file like normal however it tends to run very very slowly and it will slowly creep up to 99.8 and then 99.9% complete but then just as its about to tick over to 100% complete it will stop for a minute or so and then tick itself back over to 99.7% complete and repeat this process over and over again.Eventually the torrent will actually finish downloading and it will work but it can take hours and hours of going through the above loop.I use Utorrent - problem only started occurring after the latest release for Utorrent came out a couple of weeks ago. Ive tried uninstalling Utorrent and all associated settings and re-downloading multiple different older stable versions of Utorrent that Ive never had a problem with in the past but the same thing still happens.I've tried deleting the files that are missing some parts when the torrent gets to the 99.7% mark, forcing a re-check and the re-downloading those files but the same thing still happens. This only seems to happen when dling large files - game files 6 gig and larger, I haven't had this problem occur at all when downloading 700MB and 1.39 gig files (movie files) whether they are rared or not.Any constructive advise would be much appreciated. Thanks,
