brianr83 Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 For some reason I am having a problem getting different files to appear when downloading a torrent. I used to be able to do it before but now I can't. Before when I opened a torrent to download, in a separate window it would show all the files (handy for albums where I only wanted 1 or 2 songs), I could check only the songs I wanted to download. In the settings I do have the box checked for "show a window that displays the files inside of a torrent". So its not that. Now when I open a torrent that window is just blank and says Size: 0 B. Anyone have any clue why its doing this now? Thanks.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 Now when I open a torrent that window is just blank and says Size: 0 B. Anyone have any clue why its doing this now? You're using magnet links instead of torrents. Skip files on the files tab in the main window for now.
brianr83 Posted March 12, 2012 Author Report Posted March 12, 2012 Yea, I am using magnet links. How do I get the actual torrent? I'm gonna assume its against TOS to name the torrent site I use but its a pretty popular one and I don't see anyway to get the actual torrent file. I used to be able to but now it just has a button that says "Get this torrent" and has a magnet symbol next to it. It also says "Problems with magnets links are fixed by upgrading your torrent client." I figured out that I can skip the files but I wish I could go back to the way I used to do it and just check and uncheck the tracks I want. Thanks.
Paddyjack Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 I have the exact same problem since I updated µtorrent, and I actually registered on this forum to ask, until I found this thread. Not sure what to do either.
WLS Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Watch this movie. Thanks to the original provider of that link.
Fuzzie Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I think i might have just stumbled across a solution. When the file is downloading in utorrent, highlight the file and then Right Click. Select the Open Containing Folders Option. This will then highlight the folders being downloaded. Select the ones you dont want to download, select the File option, top left, and then Delete. Hope this works for you. Cheers.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Fuzzie, those steps are how to GUARANTEE errors in uTorrent.
skeeterdew Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 I watched the video. Still don't get how to make the list show up. I don't like having to download stuff I don't want just to get what I do want.
