Seventhson Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 The scheduler is set to run between 12:00am and 07:00 every night. This had worked perfectly fine until a few weeks ago when suddenly it started only running for 2 hours 2 minutes every time. I know it's only that long every time as the time elapsed for each torrent goes up by 2h2m every time. I was running v2.2.1 so tried upgrading to v3.1.2 to see if it solved it but the problem is still there. Prevent standby when active torrents is checked.Does anybody have any solutions? It's starting to become annoying as downloads that would have been completed overnight are now taking 2 or 3 nights to complete.OS: Windows 7 UltimateuTorrent: v3.1.2Thanks
DreadWingKnight Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Have you checked the availability for the offending torrents?
Seventhson Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 Thanks for the quick reply. All torrents are available, it's happened with various torrents, some with only a few seeds and others with a few thousand. As i said it worked fine until a few weeks ago when this problem suddenly started occuring. Seems a bit of a random amount of time, 2h2m, and the fact that it's exactly that long every time.Is there possibly a setting in utorrent that could have somehow changed without me knowing that could have caused the problem? Thanks
DreadWingKnight Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I doubt it. It's either something in your computer or something at your internet provider.
Seventhson Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 After checking a few logs it would appear that the pc is going to sleep after 2h2m even though prevent standby when active torrents is checked. Utorrent appears to be stopping sleep upto that point (power settings are sleep after 30 mins) but no longer, which seems strange as it always worked fine until a few weeks ago, and I haven't changed anything. It did the same thing last night even though 3 more torrents had been added from rss feeds, all of which are definitely available.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
DreadWingKnight Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Considering you're leaving the computer on specifically to torrent, I'd recommend you simply disable sleep mode. There's a possibility that windows isn't listening to uTorrent's request to disable sleep.
Seventhson Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 Thanks for the reply. The pc is used as a media centre so is always on, just goes to sleep/standby when not being used. Seems odd that prevent standby works for a few hours then stops. Guess i'll just have to disable sleep or use the program (that was in use when utorrent prevented sleep properly) which wakes the pc every night at 23:59 to prevent standby or keep it awake for the time utorrent runs.If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas why windows stops listening to utorrents request to disable sleep, they would be appreciated. Thanks
