found the slow speed problem for my uTorrent, perhaps this will help..

I hope this is the right forum to post,,, I tried a suggestion fromone of the MANY posts about this, and cannot find the correct forum thread to post this in...

I have a new computer that is running windows 7 x64 with 6 gigs ram...

My internet speed would go from 15kps to 1.3 mps and then just level off,,,

then it would shut off my local adapter,,,

I tried everything possible,,, even changed from AT&T to Comcast... :/

I set up a dedicated port, I made sure I had the "exception" listed on my Windows Firewall and

my Vipre antivirus firewall..... nothing...:mad:

After reading the forums here, I saw that some AV programs might be effecting the uTorrent program, especially VIPRE antivirus...

I am happy to report that if you "disable" ACTIVE PROTECTION AND FIREWALL in VIPRE, the speeds will come back, and will not shut off the local area adapter.

After your downloads finish, just click on your VIPRE icon, and enable ACTIVE PROTECTION and FIREWALL again, or..... you can get rid of VIPRE and get another less intrusive AV program.

I hope this saves at least 1 - person from pulling out their hair and spensing hours reading and experimenting.
