iamafractal Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 right now i REQUIRE encryption for all my use of the software and so i would like to be able to also set what encryption level i would REQUIRE or be willing to ACCEPT...currently, as far as i remember, the only encryption available is RC-4. Computers are getting a lot more powerful these days, and I really would feel safer with something like 1024bit or even just 512bit encryption... or a level i decide upon... at least if higher levels are available, other users will also adopt those... so if you added the ability to use higher levels of encryption, is there a nice clean way to do it that is still within all the protocols and versatile enough to be compatible with most clients?
IFar Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 The problem is getting the other clients to adopt the same type of encryption method.A few years back there was an issue with various incompatible methods of encryption. It isn't trivial to add additional encryption types to the existing specifications. If you are wanting better encryption. Use a VPN to encrypt all your inbound/outbound traffic. IFar
