Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Alright, I'm trying to seed, but almost all of my torrents are unable to find the already downloaded files even though I can find the files and torrents physically. So the availability is just a red line and I'm unable to upload. How can I get it so that my torrents can relocate the downloaded video files and I can begin to upload/seed? :/
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Use the "Set Download Location" on the torrent with it stopped or use the relocate function to do individual files (for a multi-file torrent)
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Thank you for the quick reply DreadWingKnight, but unfortunately, I'm not sure where "Set Download Location" is, nor the "relocate function." Could you please use a step-by-step process? Sorry, I'm quite new at this.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Right-click the offending torrent -> advanced -> set download locationOr, for multi-file torrents you've separated the files for, right-click the files on the files tab.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 I have moved the torrent into the folder where I have the downloaded files, but I am still receiving no availability. Was I perhaps supposed to move the torrent onto some file? Thank You.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Did you force a re-check after moving the files?
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 I cannot click on the option to force a re-check. The font is a dim grayish color (opposed to black/filled in), in other words not available to click on, but only to view. Such agony.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 I stopped the torrent and was able to force a re-check . However after the re-check, I started the torrent and it was (can you believe this) still unavailable.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Then the file layout or files themselves didn't match properly.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 But I still have the original torrent and the movie seems to work fine. What does that mean?
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Also when I tried moving another torrent to its correct folder I received a message reading "File move target C:/etc/video.mkv already exists. Overwrite?" I'm not sure what it means since there is no other torrent in the folder.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 When I put the torrents into their appropriate folders I found out that there were new folders created inside of that with a video called "~uTorrentPartFile_36010EEA8" Though I was unable to open it, does this actually help at all?
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 No. That file is generated when skipping files.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Well I don't see any fix to this "unavailable" red bar. Do you know if there is any other way I can upload/seed without having to download?

Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 None of this works, at all. The torrents are all labeled as "seeding" but aren't highlighted in green, the availability bar is still red and nothing indicates that I am uploading. Also, what does "Status" indicate and is there a way to switch the status?
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 If the status is seeding, then the torrents are in uploading mode. If there is no uploading then you're dealing with torrents that have either no downloaders or are chronically overseeded.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 Well almost all the status say "working" as opposed to one set saying "not allowed/failure" does "working" mean I'm seeding? Also, there are barely any seeders (0 or 1) and quite a few peers (in the teens) per torrent (I'm assuming a peer is a downloader).
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 "Failure:" messages for the tracker status indicate a tracker-specific error."Not allowed" for DHT/PEX/LPD is normal on ratio enforcement sites.
Treu Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 That's actually why I'm here in the first place - to even out the ratio that I didn't know existed. I'm not sure of any way that's actually going to allow me to upload/seed now, everything seems very, very, slow or just does not work at all. I'm out of ideas.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 What is the full message after "Failure"?
Treu Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 "Failure: you are warned, you are not allowed to download, see our wiki for for info..." I understand though that it is referring to the ratio. My ratio is currently 0.079. Earlier today it was .076. As you can see, it has only increased .003 in almost 6 hours. Hopefully you can tell this is quite frustrating and I would like to know a better way to get it up faster (Roughly 2 or 3 torrents are actually uploading occasionally but very little, which has given me that .003). Thank you.
DreadWingKnight Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 If you've skipped files then you aren't actually considered seeding. Contact the site administrator about that.
