lancemulvihill85
hey everyone. i use my phone to tether internet access for my pc, which is win xp, firewall off, and no antivirus. usually i have no problems downloading stuff. i typically get 150kps-300kps. i attributte the low speeds to my wireless carrier. and its really not a problem, i'm pretty patient and typically never go over a 3gb download. the problem is port forwarding. no port is ever "open". how can i fix this, i'm not even sure i can. but i figure if i can open a port, my down/up speeds could see an increase. thanks in advance for any advice
D0wnl0ad1ng
I don’t think you are having issues with ports. You are going over nat most likely. That would be the issue. A phone is not so good in this.
D0wnl0ad1ng
You could also just see if you can try port forwarding. To do that you just need to understand basic nat I think. How one port goes in and comes out. http://cognitiveanomalies.com/cisco-nat-how-nat-works/
