Drakinola Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Hey everyone,I've been using uTorrent for ages now, and have never really had any problems, until now. I was downloading at about 600kbps earlier (my max. download speed being 800kbps), and for some reason, the speed suddenly dropped, and went down to about 5-7kbps. I can't think of anything that might explain this, as all I was doing at the time was watching a movie on VLC media player. I've tried doing practically everything I can think of; changing upload and download speeds, pausing/stopped and restarting, restarting uTorrent, restarting my computer, checking the port forwarding and firewall, disabling my anti-virus, etc. but nothing is working at all. I've also tried to download torrents like OpenOffice to test if it was just the torrent I had running, but so far, there has been absolutely no luck at all, and the speeds don't increase. My upload speeds were going strong at about 30kpbs (well, that's strong for me, anyway...) but now they're also down at around 5kpbs.I can't think of what might have caused this. I've got the green "tick" at the bottom right of the screen, and I also tried downloading the latest version of 3.1.3 as I was on 3.1.2, but it hasn't done anything. I tried deleting the torrent and starting again, but it makes no difference. When I try to run my Setup Guide speed test, and select "London, UK", it gives me a 10060 error, and can't continue, but I can select places like Paris, so I don't know if that's a problem on my end or not?I'm running it on port # 45682, as always, and I'm with BT, currently using the BT Home Hub (Wireless). My computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as this is driving me absolutely mad.EDIT: My speed test shows that I'm still getting a download speed of ~4 megs and an upload of around 30kpbs, which is usual for this time of the day, so it's not just my internet speed in general, either. Thanks.
mcaspi Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Stop all downloads, disable uTP in Preferences/Bittorrent, start downloading and see if it helps. if It doesn't enable uTP.
