Sleep3r Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Hi there! My problem is, whenever I try to download something with μtorrent, the download speed goes up to ONLY 4-5Mbit/sec, and in the same time my ping to my Primary and Secondary DNS server goes up to 1000 ms - 1500+ ms , and then changes to Request Time Out.So the speed won't reach its limit 12MBit/s, and my connection is dying (Time out to my DNS servers) when the DL speed reaches 4 or 5 Mbit/s.I've tried to download directly a random CD iso, from a random page, and the download was perfect, and the ping to my DNS servers, was acceptable as well.So this problem only occurs, when I'm using mikrotorrent.I've tried to test it, without the router, with the modem connected directly to my PC, but its the same.I've contacted my ISP, and they have no clue about my problem. As I'm a really really old user at my ISP, and know the boss in person, I'm sure he won't lie to me.He said, they have no limitations for torrents, and all the ports are open. They are using Docsis 3 system. My setupType of connection: Cable NetModem: Motorola SB5101UERouter: D-link DIR-300Bandwidth:IP : PublicI've already set these connections to the half of the original setting:Global Maximum number of connections: 225Max number of connected peers/torrent: 50The upload limit is set to 50 kB/s (half of the total avaliable upload speed)Any ideas about this situation? Thanks
DreadWingKnight Posted April 6, 2012 Report Posted April 6, 2012 Did you disable the SPI firewall in your router?
Sleep3r Posted April 6, 2012 Author Report Posted April 6, 2012 Did you disable the SPI firewall in your router?Hi there!Nope, I have not disabled it yet.I've just forwarded the port for the μtorrent in the portforward section. Will try to disable the SPI now, and see what happens.
