Port listening not wrking through VPN

Hi all,

I am having problems making utorrent working with hideipvpn torrent VPN connection up. setup is following:

windows 7 64bit

latest utorrent client

port xxxx opened on linksys wrt54gl Firmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2, VPN passthrough enabled.

this works perfect when no VPN is used.

However when i use VPN setup suggested by hideipvpn.com customer support there is no traffic as the client is waiting for login (DHT: Waiting for login). I noticed that port forward test doesn't work. I was suggested to try another torrent client and i tried bitcomet with same results:

no vpn: works

vpn: no traffic, not able to listen to port.

i'm running out of ideas here and would appreciate any help.

The short version is that if the problem persists with multiple clients, the problem isn't with the client.

hi,

i figured the same but maybe i overlooked something in router setup. from my, rather basic, knowledge i'd say the client isn't able to connect through VPN.

however, when i setup a plain VPN connection with same setup under windows and then setup utorrent with no proxy it is working and the traffic is tunneled properly. this would suggest that utorrent client isn't able to connect on it's own for some reason. driving me nuts..
