wechselbalg Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 Hi,I use a QNAP NAS to store some of my downloads. It is set to automatically spin down the hard drives after 30 minutes of inactivity. It started with utorrent version 3. The NAS does not go into standby like it did with version 2.2.1.I used Wireshark to get a grip of what's happening. It showed repeated (every 5 seconds ) SMB requests to find files on the NAS:SMB 352 Trans2 Request, QUERY_PATH_INFO, Query File Basic Info, Path: \Downloads\somefilename.txt.!utto which the NAS replied correctly:SMB 93 Trans2 Response, QUERY_PATH_INFO, Error: STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUNDStrange thing is: \Downloads\somefilename.txt is there, but not \Downloads\somefilename.txt.!utI don't know why utorrent asks for this file. The "Append .!ut" option is not checked in the settings. When returning to 2.2.1 everything works, the NAS goes to standby. There are no more SMB requests for nonexistent files.Did I miss a setting?
