Sheisty
Hi all - I recently upgraded utorent (3.1.3 build 27220 32 bit) and my pc (windows 7 pro-64bit) I get this error "Error Disc Removed Please re-attach" error every time my computer is restarted. The drive is connected (as are the others) but for some reason I have to manually restart all of the torrents. On my old machine (windows xp pro) when the computer was restarted I didn't have this issued.

Sheisty
Sorry I thought I replied to this. It's neither its a simple WD elements USB drive.
DreadWingKnight
Is it plugged in when you turn uTorrent on?
Sheisty
Yes its plugged in. If I restart the pc right now without disconnecting anything I will get the error.
DreadWingKnight
Then it's likely a case of uTorrent launching before the device has a chance to initialize properly. All you can really do is wait for your computer to be all the way up before starting uT. Sheisty
I figured that my pc was booting faster than the drive. I'll either disable auto start of utorrent or delayed start.
Kitsoran
Delayed start would be good. Is that one of those odd WD Drives with the emulated CD drive and password locking?
SolariStar
If it is one of those odd WD drives with the emulated CD drive and password locking...about the password locking...you don't need a password on the drive if the computer is only being used by you.I would also disable the Auto Backup service as well as it brings up another error (the file access one).I bring that up because I have one of those said WD drives. Sheisty
Thanks for the help guys. I used the task scheduler within windows 7 pro to give me a 1 minute delayed start of µTorrent. This allowed my external drives ample time to boot up. Now that I know this works, when a deal comes around I'm going to get another external to backup, the one actively receiving torrents. I was originally looking at getting a D-Link DNS-325 (2-bay), but I don't stream media, and I only need to keep my torrents that run 24/7 backed up.Oh, and this drive isn't one of the "WD drives with the emulated CD drive and password locking". aslanpayi
Hi all - I recently upgraded utorent (3.1.3 build 27220 32 bit) and my pc (windows 7 pro-64bit) I get this error "Error Disc Removed Please re-attach" error every time my computer is restarted. On my old machine (windows xp pro) when the computer was restarted I didn't have this issued.I right clicked on the torrent, chose advanced, chose set download location, found the drive where the files started to download. It then says do you want to overwrite, you choose yes. Then, it still says the same error message but then you just click the start button on the main screen(play arrow). This worked for me and I am not a computer Whiz.Good luck --Türkçe açıklama: Torrent üzerine sağ tık Gelişmiş> Indirme Yerini Belirle menüsüne tıklayıp torrentin klasörünü göster. Üzerine yazılsın mı sorusunu onayla ve tamamdır. Geçmiş olsun.

I wanted to continue the existing downloads without starting over so I simply copied the data from the older HDD over to the newer one and followed your instructions above. Solved, for me anyway
