Magnum Opus
I've never had a major issue on uTorrent on my Win7 laptop, but recently I purchased a MBP 13'inch, installed uTorrent as an alternative to Transmission, and I faced a strange problem. When I download a torrent file, it doesn't download the file to the directory that I have specified in the preferences directory tab settings, to be more specific, I chose a certain download location, and it downloads the file to this (User/Library/Application Support/uTorrent) location always. My uTorrent Ver. is 1.6.4 (Build 27255). Has anyone faced this, or any similar issue?
priate1
I'm starting to believe our Preference selections are irrelevant. Not directly to your point, but I've noticed my upload-rates continue at constant rates (over 40 kB/s), yet my uploaded "amounts" and "ratios," remain unchanged. In an effort to focus some of that out-going bandwidth towards my downloads having the lowest ratios (on average – all the numbers have changed some and even quickly at times in the beginning), I kept dialing back the maximum allowable rates lower and lower, until only those last two or three downloads with the lowest ratios could be affected. Yet, while the bandwidth consumption continued outwards unimpeded, "credit" for the usage was never applied towards the items in need. Even though my Window was showing almost no Seeds or Peers, the repeaters kept hammering away on my internet module. If that's the case, what' the point of leaving our computer running for hours and hours, if we can't get acknowledgment towards our expected (and desired) levels of "payback?" I guess, I don't really care how they use it – yet, as long as the system places expectations on us, then I want the "accounting" made accurately. Sorry that my comments don't provide answers, and only ask only more questions, but perhaps someone else can shed some light for both. Thanks! getsaf
I'm not sure if this is your issue, but check out this thread. You may have the "Move completed downloads" box checked in the preferences.http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=120762
Magnum Opus
I checked the thread you provided, It is similar, but not quite my issue, I have the "put new downloads in (enter location, downloads folder for example)" and "move completed downloads to" options in the directories tab checked, and when I restart uTorrent they are still checked, but they do not save my new downloads to the specified folder, but instead to the location provided in the original post.
