Thinkr
Disclaimer: I am still new to torrent usage so please excuse my ignorance. My issue: I began downloading a 8.91 GB torrent about one week ago. When my download was completed 2 days ago, utorrent immediately began seeding and continued to do so for two days. Today, I restarted my computer after having essentially run it continually for more than a week and I was surprised that two days worth of seeding were erased. Before my seeding was reset, the indicator at the bottom of the utorrent interface read (D: 5.5GB and U: 10.1GB) now the interface reads (D: 1.9 MB and U:199.9 MB). I guess my question involves the following issues: 1- When can I expect to have access to the downloaded file which has essentially caused me to leave my computer running continuously for more than a week? 2-How much seeding is required for a 8.91 GB file? 3-Is there any way for me to access the downloaded file without leaving my computer running for so long? 4- Is there any way for me to recover the previously seeded data? 5- While my computer is seeding, is there any way for me to know how much seeding remains? Please help...Any information is welcomeThanx
DreadWingKnight
The indicator in the status bar is reset per-session, it does NOT reflect the total upload or download you have done on a given torrent overall.2> somewhere between 9 and 10gb due to people who bail.3> webseeds MAYBE
jsillup
@Thinkr, you have access to your download even while the file(s) is/are downloading. You do not have to wait to access the file(s) while seeding, you just cannot move the file(s) until you stop seeding. But even if you do move the file(s) you can set a new location in the Advanced menu after right clicking the torrent name and resume seeding if you want.
