BillinReno
I'll make this short and clear to start conversation, then we can work from there. I got a new Windows 7 machine from Dell this week, and am still in the process of transferring and reloading. The win 7 version is Home premium. Whenever I attempt to install the current utorrent version, I get the BSOD. I'm trying to grab the info on what is failing, but haven't gotten it yet. I'll keep trying. A search of these forums brings up various threads of crashes from utorrent running, but not on install. It doesn't really even get into the install. I run through the first couple screens, then it crashes.Any thoughts?I update with the error when I pin it down.
BillinReno
OK, I'm getting the DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. A google search brings a spray of possible solutions, but no consensus.Can/will add more info on replies (not sure what more to add at this point). Thanks

BillinReno
OK, not to be a dunderhead... I've downloaded and run Buescreenview. How much info do you need? I want to give enough, but not copy/paste miles of info if it's unnecessary. All but one crash was caused by vsdatant.sys.
DreadWingKnight
Uninstall zonealarm.
BillinReno
Last question: do I only need to uninstall ZA for the installation, and then reinstall, or do I need to find a new firewall?
BillinReno
Oh, and thanks for your help on this. I'm normally pretty competent, but the BSOD software, and this problem, were new ones for me. Thanks again.
DreadWingKnight
Considering the history I've seen for zonealarm, I'd look for something else.
