thequanticlad
Hi everybody!I've already searched the forums and the internet but nobody seems to have encountered my problem. My internet connection grants a theoretical speed of 30Mb/s. Since it's a fiber connection, actual speeds are very close to the theoretical ones: when downloading files from any website, in fact, I can reach download rates as high as 3.5MB/s.As opposed to that, uTorrent won't seem to download my torrents faster than 1MB/s: I've already checked the settings, tried to alter the speed limits, download any kind of popular torrents but nothing got me beyond the 1MB/s cap.If it can help, the problem applies to upload rates, too: upload speed is stuck at about 350kB/s although my connection allows for a maximum of 30Mb/s [again, about 3.5MB/s].Given that it's not a simple bit/bytes conversion mistake, can anybody help me?Thank you in advance! vadimt
Looks like peers from which you are downloading have less upload speed than your download speed. Thanks!
thequanticlad
I appreciate your help, vadimt, but I don't think this is the case: the behavior is the same for every one of the hundreds of torrents I've downloaded since I've had this connection - except for the ones with few seeds, which run slower. If you took a look at the speed graph, you'd see a steep curve rising to 1MB/s right after the beginning of the download, and a stable horizontal line until the end of the process - with occasional temporary drops due to, e.g., peers disconnecting. Now, this makes me suspect there's some sort of "wall" my speed can't overstep.I know this is kinda weird, I'd like someone who has a fast fiber connection to tell me whether they can get over this limit.Thank you all again!
