Petrovic Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 ... downloads fineEach time I add a torrent to µtorrent the download seems to start. You see a little bit of download activity (0-0.5 kb/s), I guess to connect to the seeds and peers. After a while (let's say fifteen minutes to half an hour) the download has stopped. When I click the files tab I don't see any of the files. When I click on "start download" (right mouse button, then select that option) the download starts again and immediately the files which I want tot download are being shown and you see the size of the downloaded number of bytes of those files increases. What's the bug? It seems like µtorrent has difficulty creating the files? It's not that big of a problem but it is a bit annoying.
DreadWingKnight Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 What version of uTorrent?Where are you getting your torrents?
TONPumper Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 I am also having this issue. I start a download and minimize uTorrent. Then when I open it 5-10 minutes later, the download says that it has stopped. I'm using Windows 7 Professional x64 with uTorrent 3.2 build 27568 x86.
BParker Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I uninstalled uTorrent and then installed the alpha 3.3 build. Appears to have fixed it.
Petrovic Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 Sorry for the late reply. I use version 3.2 , 32 bit build 27568. Just like TONPumper I have a 64-bit computer on which I use the 64-bit Windows 7 home premium.I download most of my torrents from TPB.I guess that uninstalling utorrent and installing an older version would solve this issue?
DreadWingKnight Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 I guess that uninstalling utorrent and installing an older version would solve this issue?Nope.Newer version.
zamszowy Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Same problem here with version 3.2 build 27568 on WIndows 7 x64.
DreadWingKnight Posted July 27, 2012 Report Posted July 27, 2012 Either stop using magnets or start using the 3.2.1 beta
Petrovic Posted July 27, 2012 Author Report Posted July 27, 2012 Unfortunately, as you know, with tpb you have to use magnets. Anyway, until a little over a week ago I didn't have problems with magnets with the older version of uTorrent while I downloade magnets so apparently that older version (half a year till a year old) could handle magnets. Another version which was 'even' older couldn't start a download with magnets. The only reason I have downloaded a newer version is because I just did a clean install of Windows. Usually I prefer to wait with upgrading software, any problems are then being fixed. I'll sit it out untill the betaversion isn't a beta anymore. It's not that big of a problem. As soon as I start the torrent for the second time it works fine.
Butch Coolidge Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 it happens to me too, but only on TPB magnets. When I download from other sites, it works fine. Also, when I download from TPB, contents of torrent are not shown in dialog box before download, but they're shown if i download from other sites...something is wrong with TPB magnets...
Petrovic Posted August 7, 2012 Author Report Posted August 7, 2012 Or something is wrong with the torrent client. Or it is just an unfortunate combination. It's not a reason for me to change the torrent client but I hope they fix it with the next upgrade.
Mac-the-Knife Posted August 8, 2012 Report Posted August 8, 2012 Nothing wrong with TPB magnets, I use them all the time. Updating to latest 3.2.1 beta version should solve the original posted problem. Preferences, UI settings, ticking "Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent in advanced mode" should solve the other.
