uTorrent won't update, constant error messages

I'm running v2.2 on Windows 7

For the last few days, every torrent I download gets a 'Error: Element Not Found' error message. I can resume the download and -sometimes- it will begin to work again.

I have tried many times to update (directly from the utility) but it says there is a problem and I can't update

Do I have any other options beside uninstall/reinstall, and if so is there a way I can still access all of my previous downloads from within uTorrent?

What internet security software do you have installed?

Just installing the new version over the old without uninstalling will retain your torrent list. Just shut down the old version completely before updating.
