kerio Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Its imposible for me to make straight portforward I have for expamlepublic ip : 100.100.100.100 port 50private : 10.0.0.1 port 40I believe that I can specify net.bind_ip : 100.100.100:50 and listening port 40 => but it seems to be not working. Only thing I need is to report tracker different port than utorent wil be listening. Also I am not sure but older version was able to specify this by net.bind_ip setting or not?
Firon Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 That will not work. net.bind_ip is ONLY for specifying which NIC to use.
kerio Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 Okay and what about - IP/Hostname report to tracker - thats only for report IP which I use. But again - its possible to made it or not?
Firon Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 That option is for people behind proxies, it has nothing to do with what you want (and most trackers ignore it anyway). And uh, I'm not sure this kind of setup will work.
kerio Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 No its not working:) So I have to change client:o( Shit! However with net.bind_ip specified as i wrote tracker report "Connectable ( Yes ) "
Firon Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Changing clients won't help. And why do you need your ports setup differently?
kerio Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 Because I am in school and have just this port redirect - the main reason was to create VPN server which I did but actualy there no reason for it (no school service running in our school). Admin left this port redirect for our testing purpose. However I find solution 1. specify the listening port the PUBLIC one, restart utorrent2. change it to my PRIVATE port and specify private IP (of NAT) in net.bind_ipNow I can recieve many of incoming connection! I dont fully understand how can this be done but yes, its done:)---Okey its not fully done:) Number of incoming connection depends on how long before I had public port set. So clients try to connect on the "previus port" and utorrent is listening for private port.
noroom Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 I'm in the same situation. Is there a way to make uTorrent report a port to the tracker/peers, but listen for incoming connections on another? If not, can you please add this as an advanced option? It would help us all that have to use a WAN port on the router that's different to the LAN port uTorrent is listening on.Please?
Ultima Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 No, there's currently no way to do this in µTorrent. As for the request... this thread is for proposing that feature, so you'll just have to wait and see what ludde says.
noroom Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 Thanks for your reply, Ultima. But how do I get ludde to read this? =(
Ultima Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 He sometimes checks the forums, but most of the time, *certain* people tell him about the requested features directly.
