FordP929 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I love the new hotkeys but F8 for preferences windows is a little verbose and not that user freindly. Most people would assume the prefs window to be on the order of CTRL+P (for prefernces) or CTRL+O (for options) So I think a better UI would be with CTRL+P to invoke preferences.I hate to sound like the person who bitches all the time but its just a freindly suggestion. Besides F8 messes with Konfabulator's default functionality of invoking the Konspose' display, thats if uTorrent is in focus. Keep up the great work guys.
NiteShdw Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I tend to agree. I am used to pressing CTRL-P for preferences as well.
Inacurate Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 - - "I hate to sound like the person who bitches all the time ..."Horrible idea, I will certainly grant you Ctrl+P is one of the "standards" and common hotkeys for Preferences, along with Ctrl+O, but ya know what? I liked having to press ONE key a lot better than pressing two. I can be VERY, EXTREMELY, STUBBORNLY, HORRIBLY, lazy sometimes, but this is just a matter of preference..I can't press Ctrl+P with my left hand very easily, so now I have to remove my hand from my mouse to open the Preferences. Yes I could click "Options->Preferences" but so could you. Inac
Ultima Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 In my eyes....Ctrl+O = OpenCtrl+P = PrintI haven't seen any consistent "Preferences" or "Options" key combination. In Adobe applications, it's Ctrl+K (I think). In Opera, it's Ctrl+F12 (though you can change it). (I)Explorer doesn't even have a keyboard shortcut for these things.
Miffo Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Actually, Opera have Alt+P (but uses both)
