Samuel L. Jackson
All the torrents I try to download stay at 0%.For what I've read it seems that the problem is usually protection software. I had this problem before when I was using Avast but I ended up deleting Avast and utorrent worked fine again. As of today I am having the same problem with no protection software installed. I have made sure there is an exception in Windows firewall. I'm confident that nothing was downloaded last night so I'm not sure what would cause utorrent to stop working randomly. Help would be appreciated
Mac-the-Knife
Would help if you mentioned operating system and exact version of uTorrent you are using. One footnote for you, I use Avast free home antivirus and Comodo free firewall and have no issue using uTorrent with them. If you are downloading files then the least you should have on your system is an antivirus program to check them.

Mac-the-Knife
Samuel, try the latest 3.2.1 beta version. The last two stable versions, 3.1.3 and 3.2 both have various issues, some of these have been addressed in the beta versions and they are sending them out quite quickly now. In Preferences, General, you will see a box that needs ticking by the line that says update to beta versions, also check the one that says check for updates automatically. Once you've done this, if the update box doesn't come up then just click the Help file and choose check for updates from the dropdown list. Let us know if the beta sorts out your problem. Samuel L. Jackson
Did everything and still having the same problem, when I go to check for updates I get a message saying there is no new version available at this time. Samuel L. Jackson
Here's a screenshot of my utorrent. Maybe it can be of some assistance.
Mac-the-Knife
The latest beta version is 3.2.1 (28025), I'm assuming you ticked the box as mentioned so as to get updates for the beta versions. Maybe you need to exit and open uTorrent again for it to work.
Samuel L. Jackson
Yeah check for updates automatically and update to beta versions are both checked. I tried opening and closing a few times and still nothing. The check for updates under help is still saying the same thing.
Mac-the-Knife
Sorry, posted the above before the screen shot came through. It looks as if you do have the latest 3.2.1 beta version, but you should have a green circle with a white tick to the right of the facebook and twitter symbols, bottom right, you don't appear to have any symbol whatsoever. You could check the set up guide to see if your network connection is working o.k.
Samuel L. Jackson
Doesn't seem to have any problems. Got green checks for both bandwidth and network.
Samuel L. Jackson
I'm not sure if it would be important to mention this or not, but I started using utorrent late last year with out any problems. Then some time in July my computer crashed causing me to have to re-install literally everything. Then after that is when I had this happen the first time roughly a month or so ago, and again now. Mac-the-Knife
From what I can see your file doesn't seem to show any size at all which seems pretty odd as I would have thought it would at least show a size, even if it didn't download. Try another download that you know has plenty of seeds and see what happens, I'm suspecting that what is loaded in utorrent may not be a file. Have you checked the trackers for it? Samuel L. Jackson
Tried a file with 3897 seeds. Its showing all 0's under trackers. Except local peer discovery has a 1 for peers.
Mac-the-Knife
Sorry Samuel, have to log off now, sorry I couldn't be of any help. One thing I haven't asked, are you downloading from the same site all the time?, if so, then try a torrent from another site, other than that I can't think of anything else. Samuel L. Jackson
Yeah it's all from the same site. I was using Thepiratebay and I just tried Isohunt for the first time and it worked. So you did help, thank you
Samuel L. Jackson
Found a solution to anyone else who may have the same problem. Instead of opening the link and clicking on "get this torrent". Instead before you open the link, click on the magnet just below the link. Worked for me
Mac-the-Knife
Samuel, glad you got it sorted, I didn't realise you weren't using magnet links and do get yourself at least an antivirus program, the ones I mentioned are no hassle whatsoever, just set them to manually update if you don't want them updating while your doing things.
