truglx
I like utorrent to start on windows startup and until recently it did. In order to make a project work, I need to run it each time as administrator. After I altered the privilege level to Run this program as an administrator, it won't start, instead, I have to manually start it each time while it also shows me a UAC popup in order to allow it. Is there a way to make it work the way I can? Also, I use version 2.2.1 (build 25302) if it matters. Thanks!
DreadWingKnight
We don't provide support for 2.2.1 anymore.
truglx
I just updated utorrent in 3.1.3 version but the problem persists... Any other idea?
ciaobaby
"Elevated" programs are not allowed to run at startup.Stop uTorrent from starting with Windows, and create a shortcut for the client in the "Startup" folder. To open the startup location click the Start button and type shell:startup into the search box and press [enter]
truglx
I tried it as well but the program still refuses to start with windows...
ciaobaby
Have you tried with the latest 3.2.1 version?
truglx
The updater tells me that I am on the latest version. I know that there is one more recent but the problem persists in two versions. The solution you suggested works on your system?I use Windows 7 pro x64 if that counts for something. ciaobaby
Well in that case, it's either run it without elevated or start it with a double click.
truglx
Sure... How come I never thought about it? It is ok not to know something, but wasting both of our time like this isn't very helpful!

bartnikj
My solution was to manually add it to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunWorks for me, only start maximized
