How to use uTorrent with HotspotShield VPN?

Hi all

I'm currently living in China and in order to bypass the great firewall I need to use a VPN. The VPN I have works great, but one problem. When I use utorrent it does not get many peers when the VPN is on.

However if I turn the VPN off I get many peers and high speed downloads.

My question: Is there a way to make utorrent ignore my VPN and allow all other traffic go through my VPN only?

You could setup "split tunneling". But I doubt that the free version of "HotSpot Shield" will support it.

Try setting the bind IP options to your non-VPN IP address. If you have a router you should setup a static IP, since once your IP changes uT will stop working till the settings changed again.
