jroc Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 While doing some seeding only I noticed this: (dont know if this a speed problem or found bug)My max upload speed just got upgraded to 2Mbps. Since the upgrade I had it set to 150. Today I tried something different. I set it to 300k to see something. Now the max speed is 230-237k. Isnt that supposed to be impossible? I do have the extreme cable modem settings for TCPOptimizer, tho. Normally I go over the set limit by 5k. I used to have 800k up speed and had it set to 70k. It used to go to 75k on the average. But this is like 30k over....Its either a blessing or incorrect speeds.Using 1.5 for over a month now. And at 800k up speed it did go to 190k a few times when I had it set to unlimited. Now I just seen it jump to 241k. This cant be possible.....how can I upload faster than my max speed reported by my ISP?
Saribro Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 2Mbit/sec = 256kByte/secSo you aren't going over your limit.
jroc Posted April 22, 2006 Author Report Posted April 22, 2006 I guess I added wrong. I thought it was 200k. My fault.
Saribro Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Force of habit, if I see k, M in relation to bits/bytes, my brain reads it as ki, Mi.Point still stands though, so whatever.
rudolfo2 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 ~244.5 KiB/s really but whateverI saw yesterday Peer dl.speed 3.9GB/s.Could anyone match this ??Version was 1.3 updated to 1.5.
rudolfo2 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 I don't know,if someone was faking it,than fake speed would be shown all the time but it wasn't.Is to fake the speed so simple/possible ??Are you sure that utorrent can't miscalculate something ?
Ultima Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Probably the peer said it had no pieces the first time µTorrent asked and later it said it has all pieces, which makes it appear to be going that fast.
