Warmijwilf
Okay, so I was looking at the forum earlier and looking at posts about how the uTorrent Browser/Conduit bar thingy installs even if no checkboxes are selected to install it. I thought "Preposterous! They must have accidentally clicked something in the installer that did this!" so I went to test myself.Oh... those guys were right. The worst bit is, there is no option to not install the uTorrent Browser bar. It happens by default. There isn't even any indication it is going to be installed, since there are only a few windows. If you don't believe me, I took a video of my pre-installation/installation/post-installation to prove to you that the uTorrent installer is just not working as it should. I can't believe uTorrent is forcing the user to install unnecessary crap now. I mean, sure, we can uninstall it afterwards, but we really shouldn't have to go through this.If you don't believe me, here's the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIzmIWO6SSM

Warmijwilf
The checkboxes are on the website now.For the record I also disabled those checkboxes too. I forgot to record that.So it seems like the website isn't working properly.I will again at some point and upload the vid again. Also either way what kind of move is that, a lot of people trust uTorrent and have used it on many computers to think we just need to click "download" and everything will be sorted by reading carefully in the installer. Those people won't think to read the new under-popup. It's a way of sneakily inserting those options and trying to hide them from the user as quickly as possible. Horrible stuff. captainscience
Same thing happened to me. This makes me so sad, I loved this software and trusted its creators. I have used uTorrent for probably close to 10 years and recommended it to hundreds of people. Not really sure if I missed a check box or what. The bottom line is to me is that no software is worth the risk of having to waste time uninstalling toolbars, etc. To me there is no point in installing a lightweight client if there's a risk installing random extra software. My favorite part was the survey when I uninstalled uTorrent! Hahaha never again!

sparker11
I'm going to give uTorrent five working days to post instructions how to compleatly uninstall everything related to uTorrent and Conduit as I have the same issue as thread starter. I do have to say I'm quite sad to see whats happened with uTorrent. If you want to get the grasp of the issue install in a sanbox and see for yourself. Make a cleanup the best you can, unistall Chrome browser and reboot. Install Chrome browser and you are in for a suprise.
