UT2U
In Preferences > Bandwith > Global Upload Rate Limiting should control all uploads. But by right clicking a torrent > Bandwith Allocation > Set Upload Limit, it looks like we can control individual torrents. So I'm confused. Should I use both? Does one override the other? Before I got much higher speeds when changing the Global Upload Rate Limiting to about 15 from 0. Now it doesn't seem to make a difference at all.
ciaobaby
What does the word "Global" suggest to you? Because it is EXACTLY what it sounds like.Individual rates will limit each job, while "global" is the overall limit (the limit for the sum of of active jobs)Before I got much higher speeds when changing the Global Upload Rate Limiting to about 15 from 0. Now it doesn't seem to make a difference at all.Is the limit also applied to UTP connections?
UT2U
LOL....OK - understand the Global thing. But why would someone want to limit individual uploads? If they know the other person receiving the torrent? You asked about UTP. It doesn't seem to be in the Preferences. What is UTP?

UT2U
Sounds like UTP is a great feature. Why wouldn't it be on by default I wonder? And the other two options under Global Rate Limit Options - should most people have them checked or not?
DreadWingKnight
uTP IS enabled by default.Limiting its speed is not.
UT2U
So why do people enable or disable UTP? And what about the other 2 options in Global Rate Limit Options?
DreadWingKnight
Usually because they either don't understand what it does or they have such sub-standard equipment that uTP causes it to explode.
UT2U
Well if someone here understands what it does maybe they could enlighten us. And about the other 2 options? They seem to be disabled by default. Should we live them as is?
