I use build 30242 smile

So?... :)

and why I use µTorrent Alpha?

Crash enthusiastic?

Testing...

Wow... many crash' date=' crash and more crash

µTorrent Beta (3.4 build 30239) is on the download site,

and why I use µTorrent Alpha (3.4 build 30242)?[/quote']

What Gugolplex is saying is plainly quite clear (even if English is not his native language)

I checked and agree with him, µTorrent have overwritten the (3.4 Beta build 30239) download with a (3.4 Alpha build 30242) which does not work properly. It has happened before and their configuration control seems to be virtually non existent.

Not all of us are fluent in all languages as Rafi appears to be,

although we try to read a post properly before we comment on it.

I am not. And I'm just saying - use the published official beta build. As you said, there enough issues with it as is.

I will repeat myself with more details,

The (3.4 Alpha 30242) was downloaded from the official uTorrent site under the heading of (3.4 Beta build 30239)

I downloaded (3.4 Beta build 30239) five times from the OFFICIAL uTorrent site within 15 minutes of each other:

3 were (3.4 Alpha 30242)

2 were (3.4 Beta build 30239)

and the (3.4 Beta build 30239) files were not the same size as my original (3.4 Beta build 30239) 2 days ago

What is one to do? continuously download and install from the same download button until one gets the correct version. What a pain in the ......

Another beta test build that is no longer there...

Which build are you referring to?

At time of posting, I just downloaded 3.4.0.30246 ;)

The download links are a bit of a lucky dip/Russian roulette sometimes as to what build you get. (A short while back, I downloaded 3 different alpha builds on the same link).

You guys do realise that CDNs don't necessarily update for EVERY location in the world at the same time don't you?

No I don't think its that!

In the following list: the first utorrent is what I was trying to get, The second is what I got.

Notice the 1.065kB files that keep appearing, then eventually disappear, but are never logged.

- They are curiously all the same size.

Also note the first 2 files, same Build, but not the same size??

That's how CDNs work, there are multiple data centres with multiple servers and requests is sent to the cheapest ('cheapest' as in least cost routing terms NOT monetary) node with available resources to handle the request, and updating content to a CDN follows a similar principle because updating the data to ALL nodes at the same instance would result in a resource drain on the network, and as CDNs are intended for high availability, anything that can create a very high burst of activity is avoided, as it would be a bit pointless for a CDN to be creating a DoS attack on it's own system from time to time. Your results are simply the net effect of that'rolling' or staggered updating.

Yeah' date=' but it seems to be a little bit broken[/quote']

How so?

There isn't just one person compiling the source code into executable builds.

I understand that, but surely they should have some Config Control on what they release for general Beta testing, which is what I assume they want??

If they are releasing multiple builds simultaneously on the same Link, why not explicitly state it and release them as such.

How can they release Builds as shown in Post #546

The Following 2 files are never mentioned but could certainly be downloaded randomly

13-10-19 06:05:40 1,065,296 .a.. utorrent(32)_3.4.0-30239-Beta-ab(30242-Alpha).exe

13-10-20 12:11:24 1,065,296 .a.. utorrent(32)_3.4.0-30244-Beta-ap(30246-Beta).exe

The last of which has still been selected randomly for the last 11 hours

or as mike20021969 wrote in Post #542

I don't understand the logic and it can certainly cause confusion. especially as there is no indication until you try to install or run them.
