whatda Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 HeyIm new using uTorrent & its superb - except for this problem that occours TOO often:I'm downloading a really "Healthy" torrent (good s/l ratio) - and download reaches 200KB/s (which is my entire bandwith) in a few seconds - which is GREAT. but then, after 20-30 minutes, it drops to 10KB/s, and stays that way. At first i thought that the "highspeed seeders" disconnected, but then i noticed that if i stop & start the torrent again, it rises to 200KB/s in seconds once again. So if i want to download a huge file (>1GB) i need to constantly start&stop the torrents. This happens a lot.How can u explain this? is this a utorrent bug - or something about tracker / general torrent architecture?thanx.
Firon Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Are people being banned on the logger tab? Also, are any of them BitComet/Lord/Spirit?Do you have a firewall?
whatda Posted April 25, 2006 Author Report Posted April 25, 2006 yeah, it looks as though i have 1 ban per minute. how can i prevent that?also get lots of "FAILED HASH CHECK"s.I cant know which client they're using, since they're banned.. i tried to re-add one of the banned IPs using "Add peer..." so ill get the client's name but it didnt add them. what difference does it make, anyway?Using windows xp sp2 firewall.
Firon Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 Well, it might be a poisoned torrent. There's more than a few out there.
